How studying the Scriptures helps us daily

One of the biggest complaints I hear about reading scriptures is, "why should I read what someone wrote 2000 years ago. It doesn't apply to my life today, they didn't have the same issues we have today." But, you can still find the answers you are looking for. When we pray and ask Heavenly Father for guidance in what we should read, he will direct us. Let me tell you this, every time I have needed help I can look to my scriptures and find an answer. This is something that I take comfort in, that my Heavenly Father knew what problems I would be facing and gave me the answers to them all. And what is even better is that our scriptures are like blue print for our life. And what we can't find in the scriptures we can ask him, because he still talks to us. I can promise you that if you read / study scriptures everyday that you will find the answers and guidance that you need, even in your darkest hour.
